Research Summary on Liangxue Xiaofeng (SkinEase-2) Capsule Chinese Uses: neurodermatitis, senium pruritus of skin, sensitization dermatitis, roseola, bastard measles, papule, macule, psoriasis, etc Modern studies on pharmacologic action show that Liangxue Xiaofeng (SkinEase-2) Capsule supports the following actions: Relieving itching - Relieves itching induced by Dextran in mice. Raises the threshold of itching and pain of Guinea pigs induced by histamine. Anti-hypersensitivity - It has antagonistic action on non-allergic contact urticaria induced by Dimethyl Sulfoxide in Guinea pigs. Inhibits the passive skin allergy in the rats. Anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive action - It has anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive action by decreasing celiac capillary permeability of mice, inhibiting haematolysis of the RBC, and stabilizing the cell membrane. Studies on toxicology It was orally administrated to the mice at a dose of 18.8g/kg (which was 626.6 times of human dose of 0.09g/kg) for 3 days, and the total dose was 56.4g/kg. No toxic reaction and dead mice were observed It was administrated to the mice at a dose of 10, 20 and 50 times of human dose, respectively, for 90 days. No other abnormality could be been seen except the transient and reversible elevating of Cr and B.U.N. Clinically, this product is commonly used to treat itching, roseola and psoriasis. 1. 96 cases with neurodermatitis, senium pruritus of skin and sensitization dermatitis were administrated with this product, 3 capsules per time and 3 times per day, for one month. One more capsule should be added to the severe cases in the morning and evening, respectively. According to the statistics, the total effective rate was 90.62%, including 20 cases of substantially recovered at the rate of 20.83%, 32 cases of remarkably improved at the rate of 33.33%, 35 cases of improved at the rate of 36.46%, and 9 cases of ineffective at the rate of 9.38%. 2. 72 cases with roseola, bastard measles, papule and macule were administrated with this product, 3 capsules per time and 3 times per day, for one month. One more capsule should be added to the severe cases in the morning and evening, respectively. According to the statistics, the total effective rate was 86.11%, including 16 cases of substantially recovered at the rate of 22.22%, 26 cases of remarkably improved at the rate of 36.11%, 20 cases of improved at the rate of 27.78%, and 10 cases of ineffective at the rate of 13.89%. 3. 69 cases with psoriasis were administrated with this product, 3 capsules per time and 3 times per day, for continuous 2 months. One or two capsules should be added to the severe cases in the morning and evening, respectively. According to the statistics, the total effective rate was 86.95%, including 10 cases of substantially recovered at the rate of 14.49%, 24 cases of remarkably improved at the rate of 34.78%, 26 cases of improved at the rate of 37.68%, and 9 cases of ineffective at the rate of 13.05%.
