Typical Dosage: Dosage varies depending on health condition (please see your herbalist). Typically, herbalists recommend 1-2 grams of concentrated 5:1 extract powder per day (or 0.5 grams, 2-3 times per day). The typical equivalent dosage measured in teaspoons is approximately 1/4 teaspoon per day. As with most Chinese herbal formulas, you may use the lowest dosage you find effective. Powder is intended for "as-needed" short-term use only, and should not be used on a daily basis for more than 2-3 weeks at a time. Extract powder may be dissolved in warm water, tea, juice or other beverage.

Contraindications: Discontinue use or reduce dosage if you experience excessive signs of heat in the body, prostate swelling or excessive libido. Excessive use can cause dizziness, vomiting, dry mouth, nosebleeds and urinary difficulties.

Horny Goat Weed has been used for centuries in China to boost libido, improve erectile function and restore sexual fire, power and sensation. The herb is believed to increase natural sex drive and endurance by encouraging the body to release more testosterone. This natural ingredient is found in many herbal sex formulas, including penis and penis enlargement formulas for men and libido and menopause formulas for women.

Behind the funny name of Horny Goat Weed stands a time-tested aphrodisiac that increases libido and improves sexual function. Horny Goat Weed was first described in ancient Chinese medicinal texts over 2,000 years ago, and is used in China to treat a wide range of health conditions. Horny goat weed consists of several species of epimedium, a leafy plant which grows in the wild, most abundantly at higher altitudes. The leaves of the plant contain a variety of flavonoids, polysaccharides, sterols and an alkaloid called magnaflorine. While the precise manner that Horny Goat Weed works remains a mystery, the plant has long been employed to restore sexual fire, boost erectile function, allay fatigue and alleviate menopausal discomfort.

Horny Goat Weed is perhaps the most popular sexual tonic herb in China today, with hundreds of metric tons being sold in major herbal markets. The herb's frequent us by both men and women, and its 2,000 year popularity seems to point to its success. Click Here for a link to an article on Horny Goat Week from Acupuncture Today.
