California Proposition 65

We use the same herbs we sell, so we understand your concerns about quality and safety. That’s why we partner with manufacturers who follow strict Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), carefully screen all ingredients for impurities, and meet or exceed all applicable federal safety standards.

Some of our suppliers provide Proposition 65 warning labels on their products sold in California. Proposition 65, enacted by the State of California in 1986, requires warnings on products containing certain chemicals or metals. It does not distinguish between naturally occurring substances in the environment and those added artificially. For example, plants can naturally absorb trace amounts of metals or chemicals from the soil, air, or water, which can trigger a warning even in products that are completely natural. As a result, supplements that contain herbal ingredients are more likely to require a Proposition 65 warning.

It’s worth noting that vegetables and many other foods you buy at the grocery store are exempt from Proposition 65 warnings. Without this exemption, many would require a Proposition 65 warning.

To comply with California law, we provide these warnings on affected products. While Californians are accustomed to encountering Proposition 65 notices in a variety of settings, including websites, hotels, restaurants, parking facilities, and retail stores, customers outside California may not be familiar with them. Please note that the presence of a Proposition 65 warning does not, by itself, indicate that a product is unsafe or presents a health risk.
